AEM Releases Latest U.S. Ag Tractor and Combine Sales Report

MILWAUKEE (November 13, 2018) – The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) October U.S. Ag Tractor and Combine Report shows overall sales remained positive year-to-date, although a few categories recorded October declines.

U.S. sales of self-propelled combines declined 7 percent in October compared to last year, and U.S. sales of 4-wheel-drive tractors were flat with a 1-percent drop month-over-month. October year-to-date growth in U.S. sales reached 17 percent for combines and growth of 13.5 percent for 4-wheel-drive tractors.

Total October U.S. sales of 2-wheel-drive tractors grew 6 percent compared to last year: a 9 percent gain for under-40 HP tractors, a 5-percent increase for 40-100 HP tractors, and a drop of 8 percent for 100-plus HP tractors.

October year-to-date growth for overall U.S. sales of 2-wheel-drive tractors topped 7 percent: under-40 HP tractors gained 10 percent; 40-100 HP tractors grew 2 percent; and 100-plus HP tractors increased 6 percent.

“With the 2018 midterm elections over, we urge our elected leaders to re-focus on ensuring a strong ag economy.  We will continue to advocate for agriculture, including a robust farm bill, infrastructure, trade, rural broadband and a strong Renewable Fuel Standard,” said Curt Blades, AEM senior vice president, AG services.
