Curtis, Neb. – Two rodeo contests in Iowa on Sept. 29-Oct. 2 are on tap for the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Rodeo Team.
In their third and fourth official collegiate contests of the 2016-2017 season the Aggies have nine athletes on the traveling team, said Taylor Rossenbach, rodeo coach.
“Eleven teams compete at Fort Dodge in a rodeo hosted by Iowa Central Community College on Thursday and Friday, then to Ames at Iowa State University,” Rossenbach said. “The NCTA Aggies are working hard and we are looking forward a great weekend.”
The women’s team is led by Lexus Kelsch of McLaughlin, S.D., who leads current standings for barrel racing among the 11 colleges in the Great Plains Region. She and her horse, Tigger, placed fifth nationally last season. The women’s team is sitting third regionally.
Leading the men’s team is steer wrestler Brock Henry of Rushville, currently seventh in the Great Plains Region.
