The Nebraska State Fair capped off a big week Monday naming the Champion Market Beef animals.
The Grand Champion was shown by Tejlor Strope of O’Neill.
Strope said she faced tough competition all the way through the fair, and while this was her goal, said she didn’t know if she would reach it. She took over showing this steer from her brother and attributes the entire family for the win.
Reserve Champion was shown by Mattie Beattie of Sumner.
Beattie said she did not expect to win reserve champion, as she was mobbed by family and friends, congratulating her with hugs.
