Applications for the Harold and Virginia Stevens Endowment Fund 4‑H Scholarship are being accepted until January 15. Income from the Endowment Fund will provide one scholarship of $2,500 value for Dawson County 4‑H members attending one of the five campuses of the University of Nebraska at Curtis, Kearney, Lincoln, Omaha or Medical Center.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have been a Dawson County 4‑H member for five years, must attend the University of Nebraska, and must complete the application form. Applications are available from the Dawson County Extension Office and are due by January 15, according to Andrea Nisley, UNL Extension Educator.

The Harold and Virginia Stevens Endowment Fund was established by their friends and associates to honor their contribution to the people of the area as Dawson County Extension Agent. The endowment fund was established with the University of Nebraska Foundation. The earnings from the endowment fund are made available for Dawson County 4‑H members or former Dawson County 4‑H members who are pursuing their education at one of the University of Nebraska campuses. The scholarships are available for college freshmen and first year Masters or Doctorate students if they had not received a freshman scholarship earlier.
