Lady Swedes Finish 8th At UNK Indoor 


Gothenburg Girl's Track and Field team competed on Friday at the UNK Invite  with other Class B and Class A schools. For the Lady Swedes, they finished 8thwith eight points. Hannah Anderson placed 3rd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.38. Amaya Ackerman scored the other two points in the long jump as she placed 5th with a leap of 15-06.25. The Lady Swedes will look to build as the season continues. 

Gothenburg Boys Place 6th At UNK Indoor



Gothenburg had their first track meet of the season and it took place on Friday at the UNK Indoor Invite. The Swedes finished 6th as a team with 19 points. 18 of those points came from the pole vault as Tyce Hruza took 1st with a jump of 15-06 and Wyatt Hotz placed 2nd with a bound of 12-06. Marc Ackerman placed 6th in the long jump with a bound of 18-09.75. It looks like Gothenburg will rely on field events this season to score big for them.

Lady Dusters Finish 2nd At UNK Indoor 


On Saturday the Holdrege Girl's Track and Field team got their season started with the UNK Indoor Invite. Holdrege had a lot of success taking home 2nd place as a team with 49 points. Sydney Reed finished 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:42.16. In the mile, Holdrege had a trio of athletes place. Lacy Biltoft took 2nd place with a time of 6:03.22, Kenzie Hurlbert placed 3rdwith a time of 6:04.22, and Jirsie Klein finished 4th with a time of 6:11.85. The 4x800 meter relay also had a nice race with a 1st place finish with a time of 10:42.07. Holdrege will travel to Hastings for a meet on Friday. 

Holdrege Boy’s Track and Field Team Takes Home 2nd Place



Holdrege competed at the UNK Indoor Invite on Saturday and as a team, they finished 2ndwith 74 points. Dylan Baume showed off his speed on the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.33 that was good enough for a 2nd place finish. Bauman also took 1st in the triple jump with a bound of 43-11.5. Aaron Drews took home 1st in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.3. The 4x800 meter relay placed 1st with a time of 9:02.16. In the pole vault, Tyler Jacobsen placed 2nd with a vault of 13-00 and in 3rdTrevor Scheel jumped 12-06. Holdrege will compete at the Hastings Invite on Friday.

Cozad Girl's Track Team Competes At UNK Indoor


Cozad's Girl's Track and Field team competed at the UNK indoor meet this past weekend and came away with a 7th place finish scoring 31 points. In the 55-meter dash, the Lady Haymakers had a pair of solid performances with Brittany Aitken taking 1st with a time of 7.54 and Jercey Irish took 5th with a time of 7.87. Margaret McGinnis placed 5th with a time of 6:17.01 in the mile. Kenzie Lee placed 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 15-07.5. Megan Burkholder placed 2nd in the pole vault with a jump of 10-00. Cozad will compete at the Hastings Invite on Friday. 

Cozad Boys Compete At UNK Indoor


Cozad’s Boy’s Track and Field squad competed at their first meet of the season on Saturday, at the UNK Indoor Invitational. The Haymakers came away with a 10thplace finish scoring nine points. Evan McCrickard took home 2ndplace in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.77. The other Haymaker placing was Austin Werner as he placed 6th in the mile with a time of 5:16.94. Cozad will compete at the Hastings Invite on Friday.

Lady Vikings Finish 6th At UNK Indoor



Following uncooperative weather conditions on Thursday, Bertrand elected to compete at the UNK indoor meet against Class C and B schools and came away with 6th place as a team. Grace Schwarz placed 3rd in the 400-meter dash with a solid time of 1:06.67 and she also took home 4th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:49.23. Erin Boggs placed 2nd in the high jump with a leap of 5-00 and 5th in the pole vault with a vault of 9-06. Bertrand scored 34 points in the meet and will look to build off of the strong performance this week when they compete at the Wilcox-Hildreth meet on Saturday.

Vikings Finish 6th At The UNK Indoor Invite


Bertrand traveled to Kearney on Saturday for the UNK Indoor meet and came away with 33 points, good enough to place them 6th as a team. Ethan Klingenberg had a good time in one of the sprints as he grabbed a 6th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.37. Arik Ackerman had 5th place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.23. Jose Murillo had a great time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.2. Miles Peterson finished 2nd in the long jump with a bound of 19-06.5. Bertrand will look to build off of the strong start to the season when they compete at the Wilcox-Hildreth meet on Saturday.

Lady Buffaloes Finish 8th At UNK Indoor


Elm Creek's Girl's Track and Field team competed in their first meet of the season and it was hosted at UNK in the Cushing Coliseum. The Lady Buffaloes came away with 8th place in a field of teams from Class D, C, and B. The 4x800 meter relay placed 5th with a time 12:07.21. Also in the long jump, Ashley Brown finished 5th a leap of 15-03.75 and Taylor Moes finished 6th with a bound of 15-03.5. Brown also finished 3rd in the high jump with a jump of 5-00. Moes followed up the long jump with a 1st place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 33-09. Samantha Knapp placed 3rd in the pole vault with a jump of 9-06. The Lady Buffaloes will look to build off of the strong start in the upcoming meets.

Elm Creek Boys Start Season at UNK Indoor


Elm Creek's Boy's Track and Field team had their first meet of the season and it was held at UNK in their indoor facility. The Buffaloes didn's score any points in the meet in which Class D, C, and B schools competed, but they had some good performances. The 4x800 meter relay placed 8th with a time of 10:27.71. Brett Culbertson finished 15th with a time of 2:41.14. Elm Creek will look to build on this first meet in the upcoming events.

Loomis Girls Start Track And Field Season At UNK Indoor


Loomis competed at the UNK Track and Field Indoor meet against other Class D schools, but also some Class C and B schools as well. The Lady Wolves were unable to score in the meet but Georgia Crandall posted a decent time in a loaded 200-meter dash. Crandall finished with a time of 30.91 which placed her 14th. Crandall also finished 12th in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 11.06. The Lady Wolves will look to have some great performances at the Wilcox-Hildreth Invite on Saturday.

Wolves Finish 8th At UNK Indoor 


It was the first track meet of the season for the athletes at Loomis and they came away with an 8th place finish with 16 points at the UNK Indoor Meet. Considering there were Class D, C, and B schools there, that's a solid finish. Trevin Edwards placed 4th in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:16.15. Isaac Wahls placed 4th in the 55-meter hurdles with a final time of 8.52. The Wolves had a pair of athletes place in the shot put as Issac Dunn took 3rd with a throw of 43-10.5 and Josh Marcy placed 5th with a throw of 43-00. The Wolves will look to build off some great performances at the Wilcox-Hildreth Invite on Saturday.

Pair of Eagles compete at Burke Stadium 


Schuyler Brown and Braden Kizer competed at the state track and field meet this past week. Neither athlete placed but competed well. Brown, was unable to get a throw in during the shot put, but in the discus, he had a throw of 128-02 and that had him finishing at 17th. Braden Kizer finished 13th in the triple jump with a leap of 40-03.5 and then he finished 9th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.36. Pair of Wolves compete at Burke Stadium 


Loomis had two athletes compete at the Class D boys state track and field meet this past weekend. Issac Dunn and Josh Marcy, both throwers, each competed in the shot put and Marcy also threw in the Discus. In the shot put, Dunn finished 15th with a throw of 43-08.25. Marcy finished 16th in the discus with a toss of 41-06.25. Marcy bounced back and took home 2nd in the discus as his throw tallied 162-00. Loomis finishes 6th at state


Loomis's girl's track and field team had two athletes compete at the girls Class D state track and field meet this past weekend. Alexis Billeter finished 12th in the 800 with a time of 2:32.07 and 12th in the mile with a time of 5:44.87. Skylar Hadley had a big meet as she began with setting a Class D state and meet record by running a 14.52 in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles. She then took 1st in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.84. Hadley then took 3rd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.0. Hadley took 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.18. One Lady Mustang competes at Omaha for SEM

Axtell wins Class D state title 


Axtell traveled to Omaha over the weekend to compete in the Class D boys state track and field meet. The Wildcats had a fantastic showing as they won the meet recording 65 points. Creighton Kring won the triple jump with a leap of 45-02, 1st in the long jump with a bound of 22-00, and 3rd in the 200 with a time of 23.33. Dustin Klingsporn took 5th in the pole vault with a jump of 13-00. The 4x800 meter relay of Tyler Danburg, Ryan Hubbard, Lincoln Trent, and Jarrett Bertrand placed 6th with a time of 8:35.94. Trent finished 3rd in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:24.77. Lane Bertrand finished 3rd in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.72 and 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.24. Braiden Gomez took home gold in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.17. Jarrett Bertrand placed 7th in the 400 with a time of 53.13. Dickau finishes 8th for the Lady Pirates in the two-mile at Omaha 


Tiffany Dickau competed at the Class D girls state track and field meet this past week and came away with one event that she placed in. She took 8th in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:48.37. Dickau also ran in the 800 as she posted a time of 2:36.29 which finished her 20th. Dickau finished 13th in the mile with a time of 5:46.6. Complete meet results from the Class D girls state meet.

Walker represents toe Lady Knights, unable to place at state


Maggie Walker, a freshman, for the Eustis-Farnam Knights competed at the state meet in Omaha this past week in the 100 and the 200. She was unable to place but she ran a 13.39 in the 100 and a 28.54 in the 200. Head coach Caleb Wall had this to say about Walker's performances and her future, "We are very happy with the season that Maggie put together and to have her cap it off with her first appearance at the state meet is exciting for a freshman. We look forward to the next three years as Maggie will only grow in her athletic ability and also confidence in her races." Pair of athletes compete at the state meet for Elm Creek


Elm Creek had two athletes qualify for the state track meet in Omaha this past weekend and one of them was able to place. Anthony Quintana took 8th in the high jump with a leap of 6-00. Lady Buffaloes take state runner-up 


Elm Creek's girl's track and field team competed at Omaha over the past weekend and came away with the state runner-up scoring 40.5 points. Claire Cornell took home 1st in the long jump, breaking her own Class D state and state meet record by jumping 18-07.5. The previous record was 18-05.75. Cornell then took 2nd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.87 and 1st in the 300-meter hrudles which was a new Class D meet record. Samantha Knapp placed 4th in the pole vault with a jump of 9-06. Bertrand had a number of qualifiers at Omaha this past weekend and against the best of the best in Class D, the Vikings came away with one athlete placing. Arik Ackerman placed 7th in the pole vault with a leap of 12-06. Also in the pole vault, Sam Mololey finished 10th with a vault of 12-06. Varela scores three points for Southern Valley in Omaha 


Southern Valley competed at Omaha last weekend in the state meet. They had a few representatives down there and had some nice performances, but Ivan Varela was the only Eagle able to place. Varela took 6th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.17. Brant Grove finished 11th in the discus with a toss of 129-05. Jaden Quinn competed in the 300-meter hurdles and ran a time of 43.85. Southern Valley's girl's track and field team competed at the Class C state meet this past weekend and were unable to score any points. The Lady Eagles had two qualifiers, Lauryn Samuelson and Kylee Woodring. Woodring finished 17h in the shot put with a toss of 33-03.25. Samantha Schemper placed 7th in the pole vault with a jump of 10-00. Cassidy Connell placed 3rd in the shot put as she threw a distance of 42-02.75. Lexington had a nice showing at Omaha this past weekend as they scored 18.5 points and took 14th place. Ajack Waikur placed 2nd in the triple jump with a bound of 45-06.25, 5th in the high jump with a leap of 6-04, and 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 21-05. Minutemaids place 5th at state track 


Lexington's girl's track and field team had some nice performances this past week at the state meet in Omaha. Madison Smith placed 3rd in the long jump with a bound of 17-06, 1nd in the 100 with a time of 12.63, 2nd in the 400 with a time of 58.51, and 8th in the 200 with a time of 27.41. Maddi Sutton placed 5th in the shot put with a toss of 40-07. The 4x400 meter relay of Courtney Hanson, Klair Fagot, Mollie Rowe, and Jacquelin Ostrom placed 7th with a time of 4:20.48. Overton competed in the D-6 district last week and had two athletes qualify for the state meet in Omaha. Braden Kizer qualified in the triple jump with a leap of 41-03 and in the 300-meter hurdles he placed 3rd but his time of 16.17 was fast enough to get him to Omaha in that event. Lady Knights qualify one athlete 


Eustis-Farnam's girl's track an field team competed in the D-7 district meet this past week and came away with one athlete qualifying for state. Maggie Walker will represent the Lady Knights this week at the state meet in a pair of events. Walker took 1st in the 200 with a time of 26.99. Walker had a fast-3rd place time of 13.23 in the 100 which qualyified her for state. Team results can be found below.

Loomis qualifies two athletes to state track 


Loomis competed at the D-7 district track meet last week and they finished 5th as a team. Loomis had a pair of throwers make it to the state meet this weekend in Omaha. Issac Dunn placed 1st in the shot put with a toss of 45-02.5. Josh Marcy placed in two events. Marcy placed 1st in the discus with a throw of 154-07 and 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 44-05. Lady Wolves qualify two to Omaha 


Loomis's girl's track and field team competed at the D-7 district track meet this past week and placed 3rd as a team with 54 points. The Lady Wolves had two athletes qualify for the state meet in Omaha this week. Alexis Billeter placed 2nd in the mile with a time of 5:56.05 and 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:31.46. Skylar Hadley qualified in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.69 and a 1st place finish, 1st in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.81, and 1st in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.11. Elwood competes in the D-7 district meet 


Elwood traveled to Kenesaw last week and competed in the D-7 district. The Pirates were unable to qualify anyone to the state meet, but they had some solid performances. Timmy Smith placed 4th in the mile with a time of 5:08.25. Zacob Evans placed 5th in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:28.51. The 3200-meter relay of Evans, Smith, Trevor Jorges, and Jordan Kranz placed 3rd with a time of 9:08.89. Team results can be found below.

Elwood's girl's track and field team competed at the D-7 district meet last week and they were able to qualify one athlete. Tiffany Dickau placed 1st in 800 with a time if 2:31.3, 1st in the mile with a time of 5:48.03, and 1st in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:36.06.
