Gothenburg Finds Success at State Meet


Gothenburg had a solid track meet this past week as they competed at the state meet. For the Swedes Tyce Huruza took 2nd in the pole vault with a height of 14-0 and Wyatt Holz took 8th in the pole vault as well with a vault of 12-06. for the Lady Swedes, Kasey Wellman took 7th in the long jump with a leap of 16-03.75 and Amaya Ackerman placed in the long jump as well as she took 8th with a leap of 16-0.75. The 4x400 meter relay of Andie Geiken, Kasey Wellman, Madison Harpole, and Kayla Weyers took home 7th place with a time of 4:11.8. Meet results from the class B state track meet can be found below:

Lexington Competes at State Track 


Lexington competed at the state track meet in Omaha this past weekend amongst the best of the best. Ajack Waikur finished 9th in the high jump with a leap of 6-0. Yanni Vasquez-Garcia finished 15th in the two-mile with a time of 10:19.4. For the Minutemaids, Madi Smith had a good state meet. Smith finished 6th in the long jump with a leap of 16-04.25 and a 3rd place finish in the 400 with a time of 58.81. Madison Sutton also placed for the Minutemaids as she took 3rd with a throw of 130-0 in the discus. Meet results from the class B state track meet can be found below:

Dusters Find Success at State


Holdrege competed at the state track and field meet this past week in Omaha and despite the wet conditions, the Dusters found success at the meet. Charles Weed placed 3rd in the high jump with a leap of 6-06. Trevor Matousek took home two individual medals as he placed 6th in the mile with a time of 4:31.2 and 8th in the 800 with a time of 1:59.6. The 4x800 meter relay of Zac Hurlbert, Trevor Matousek, Zack Reed, and Tyler Peterson took 6th with a time of 8:18.12. Class B meet results can be found below:

Lady Dusters Take State Runner-Up 


Holdrege took a host of athletes to state this past week and the Lady Duster competed well. Holdrege took home 2nd place as a team scoring 49 points. In the pole vault, the top four athletes went 11-02 but the number of attempts was the deciding factor in the meet. Jacee Pfeifer placed 2nd with a vault of 11-02 and Baylie Bryant placed 4th with a vault of 11-02. Pfeifer also took individual medals in the 200 with a time of 26.1 and a 4th place finish and 1st in the 400 with a time of 58.48. Cassidy Connell took home 2nd with a throw of 40-08.75 in the shot put. Baylee Barnett took home 3rd place in the 800 with a time of 2:21.37. The 4x400 meter relay of Jacee Pfeifer, Karli Hale, Ryan Melroy, and Baylee Barnett took 6th with a time of 4:11.6. Kennedy Berreckman Takes Home State Title


Cozad competed at the Nebraska state track and field meet this weekend and as always the competition was tough. Cameron Griffis finished 17th in the 400 with a time of 52.94. For the Lady Haymakers, two athletes placed. Kennedy Berreckman took home a state title in the high jump with a leap of 5-04. Darci Hoffmaster just missed qualifying in the 100 as she finished 10th with a time 13.12. The 4x100 meter relay McKenzie Lee, Darci Hoffmaster, Jercey Irish, and Carissa Jensen placed 5th with a time of 50.77. Meet results from the class B state track meet can be found below:

Lady Eagles Unable to Place at State, Come Away with Solid Performances


Southern Valley had two Lady Eagles qualify for the state meet in Omaha this past weekend and they were unable to come away with any medals. Both Savana Quinn and Kylee Woodring competed well for the Lady Eagles even without placing. Savana Quinn finished 12th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.22. Vikings Compete at State Track and Field Meet


Bertrand traveled to Omaha to compete in the state track and field meet, which was a wet and rainy two days for the athletes. None of the boy athletes for Bertrand placed in the meet, but Riley Johnson finished 14th in the 800 with a time of 2:08.8. Wyatt Wilken finished 16th in the long jump with a leap of 18-03.5. For the Lady Vikings, Kristine Edgren finished 5th in the shot put with a throw of 37-05.75. The 4x800 meter relay of Grace Straight, Kaylee Anderson, Tessa Callahan, and Grace Schwarz finished 7th with a time of 10:28.97. Meet results from the class D state track and field meet can be found below in the links:

Elm Creek Competes at Burke Stadium 


Elm Creek competed at the state track and field meet this past weekend at Burke Stadium on Omaha. For the Buffaloes, Devon Walker took 6th place in the pole vault with a vault of 12-06. Nate Bartling took 6th place in the discus with a toss of 134-11. For the Lady Buffaloes, Claire Cornell had a big day. Claire Cornell took 1st in the long jump with a leap of 18-04.75 which was also a class D state and state meet. Cornell finished 6th in the 100 with a time of 12.8. Loomis Competes at State


Loomis battled at the state this past weekend in the tough weather conditions and had a couple of good performances. Josh Marcy was just outside of placing in the discus as he finished 10th with a throw of 130-10. Skylar Hadley had a good meet as she finished 8th in the 100 with a time of 12.9. Hadley took 1st in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.36. Gerken Competes at Burke Stadium


Adrian Gerken was the lone Eustis-Farnam Knight to qualify for the state track and field meet this past weekend. Gerken was unable to place in the two events he qualified in but he finished 21st in the triple jump with a bound of 38-09.25. Elwood Competes at State


Elwood had a few athletes qualify for the state track and field meet in Omaha this weekend. Christian Reeves was the only Pirate that was able to place as hee took 6th in the shot put with a toss of 48-08.5. For the Lady Pirates, Tiffany Dickau took home three medals. Dickau grabbed a 6th place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:28.91. Dickau took 4th in the mile with a time of 5:32.40. Axtell Boys take 4th at State


Axtell competed at the state track meet over the weekend and they Wildcats took home 4th place as a team with 35 points. Creighton Kring had a solid meet in the triple jump as he took 2nd place with a leap of 42-11.5 In the 800, Jarett Bertrand placed 2nd with a time of 2:08.0. Braiden Gomez grabbed a 1st place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.9. Gomez took 2nd in the 200 with a time of 22.5. Lane Bertrand took 8th place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.59. The 4x400 meter relay of Braiden Gomez, Jarret Bertrand, Tyler Danburg, and Lane Bertrand took 2nd with a time of 3:33.8. Lady Wildcats Finish 4th as a Team at State 


Axtell competed at the state track and field meet this last weekend in Omaha. The Lady Wildcats took 4th place as a team recording 31 points. Emme Nickel took 5th in the pole vault with a height of 9-04. Regan Miller took home 3rd in the 100 with a time of 12.5. Miller also took home 4th in the 200 with a time of 26.9. Erica Bertrand also placed in the 200 taking 7th with a time of 27.2. Erica Bertrand ran in the 400 as she took 5th with a time of 1:00.3. Jason Line Competes Well at State Meet 


Jason Line was the lone Mustang of SEM to qualify for the state track meet and he had a successful meet. Line took 5th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.39. Line also took 6th in 110-meter hurdles with a solid time of 15.7. For the Lady Mustangs, Sara Ripp was unable to medal in the high jump for SEM. SEM's Jason Line to Compete at State


SEM competed at the D-7 district meet this past week and the Mustangs struggled a little against the tough competition, but they were able to send Jason Line to Omaha this week in two events. Line took 2nd in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.9. Line will also compete in the 300-meter hurdles in which he placed 1st at the district meet with a time of 42.1. Elm Creek Sends Seven Athletes to Omaha


Elm Creek competed in the D-7 district invite last week and the Buffaloes had a solid day. Seven athletes qualified for state in the tough district. Nolan Meier took 3rd in the 800, but his time of 2:07.5 was good enough to add him to the list of qualifiers. The 4x100 meter relay placed 2nd but their time of 45.3 was good enough to get them into the state meet. Members of the relay are Devon Walker, LeShain Thornabar, Preston Walker, and Jaydn Ford. Domnic Johns placed 1st in the triple jump with a bound pf 41-03.5. Johns also will compete in the long jump as he leaped 19-01.75, good enough for a 2nd place finish. Devon Walker will compete in the pole vault as he placed 1st with a height of 12-06. Nate Bartling is the final qualifier for Elm Creek as he will throw the discus. Wolves Have Three Athletes Burke Bound


Loomis had a trio of athletes qualify for the state meet this week in Omaha. Issac Wahls qualified in two events, those being the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Wahls ran a time of 15.8 which was good enough for 1st place in the 110's and he ran a time of 45.0 in the 300's and that was good enough for a 2nd place finish. Levi Asp took 2nd in the 200 with a time of 23.8 which will get him to Omaha. Joshua Marcy will compete in both throws as he placed 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 43-01.5 and 2nd in the discus with a throw of 147-06. Team results from the meet can be found below:

Hadley Burke Bound in Three Events


Loomis competed in Kenesaw for the D-8 district and had just one athlete qualify for the state meet this week. Skylar Hadley will compete in three events at Burke stadium including the 100-meter dash, the 100-meter hurdles, and the 300-meter hurdles. In the 100, Hadley placed 3rd with a time of 12.7, but that time was one of the fastest times in the state so she will compete in the event. In the 110's, Hadley took 1st with a time of 15.0 which is the fastest time in the state heading into the meet. In the 300's, Hadley took 1st place with a time of 48.8. Axtell Takes D-8 District Title 


Axtell competed at the D-8 district invite last week and the Wildcats took home the team title and qualified eight athletes. The 4x800 meter relay of Jarett Bertrand, Zach Hinrichs, Lincoln Trent, and Tyler Danburg placed first with a time of 8:53.8 and will run at Omaha this week. Lane Bertrand will run in the 110-meter hurdles as he took 2nd place with a time of 15.9. Braiden Gomez took 1st in the 100 as he ran an 11.3. Gomez will also compete in the 200 as he was the district champ in that event as he ran a time of 23.4. Jarrett Bertrand will also compete in the 400 with a time of 53.2 which was the best time in the district as well and he will run in the 800 as he placed 1st with a time of 2:11.2. Lane Bertrand will compete in the 300-meter hurdles as he took 1st with a time of 44.1. The 4x400 meter relay of Braiden Gomez, Tyler Danburg, Jarrett Bertrand, and Lane Bertrand took 1st with a time of 3:39.4. Creighton Kring will compete in both the long jump and the triple jump as he took 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 19-00.75 and he placed 1st in the triple jump with a leap of 42-01.5. Lady Wildcats Win D-8 District Meet


Axtell traveled to Kenesaw to compete for the D-8 district title, which they won, and for the right to send athletes to Omaha. The Lady Wildcats had a good day as there were 12 Lady Wildcats that are Burke bound. The 4x800 meter relay of Kailey Trampe, Ashley Snell, Hannah French, and Morgan Miller took 1st with a time of 11:19.4. Regan Miller took 2nd in the 100 as she ran a time of 12.6 and she took 1st in the 200 with a time of 27.0. Erica Bertrand will run in the 400 as she placed 2nd with a time of 1:01.0. Bertrand will also run in the 200 as she had one of the fastest 3rd place times at 27.1. Bertrand will also run with a relay as she will be joined by Camille Fishell, Regan Miller, and Ayanna Garza in the 4x100 meter relay that took 1st with a time of 51.7. In the longest running event, the 3200-meter run, Elizabeth Marcellus placed 1st with a time of 14:10.4. In the 800, Kailey Trampe placed 1st with a time of 2:37.7. Two Lady Wildcats will run in the mile as Caitlin Callan placed 1st with a time of 6:24.8 and Hannah French placed 2nd with a time of 6:32.1. In the field events, Sophie Mellema will compete in the high jump as she placed 1st with a leap of 4-10 and Emme Nickel will battle in the pole vault as she took 1st with a height of 9-06. Southern Valley competed at the C-10 district meet on Thursday in Hershey and the competition was stiff. Not a single Eagle qualified for the boys as there were a number of talented athletes in the district. Ivan Varela just missed qualifying in the 400 as he placed 3rd with a time of 52.6. Holdrege Will Take Seven Athletes to Omaha 


Holdrege competed at the B-5 district invite and the Dusters had a successful day. The 4x800 meter relay of Zach Hurlbert, Tyler Peterson, Zach Reed, and Trevor Matousek placed 2nd with a time of 8:24.64 and that was good enough to qualify for state. Gavin Klein placed 2nd in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:09.21. Tim Kaslon placed 4th in the district meet in the 100 with a time of 22.93, but that time was fast enough to qualify. Kaslon will also battle in the long jump as he leaped 20-08 which was good enough for 2nd place. Trevor Matousek placed 1st in the 800 with a time of 1:58.92. Two athletes from Holdrege will run in the mile as Matousek placed 2nd at districts with a time of 4:42.25 and Tyler Peterson placed 4th but a had a good enough time of 4:44.63. Ten Lady Dusters Heading to Omaha


Holdrege competed in Broken Bow last week for the B-5 district track meet. The Lady Dusters had a great day having a number of athletes qualify for state. The 4x800 meter relay of Sydney Reed, Kenzie Hurlburt, Baylee Barnett, and Carly Janssen placed 3rd with a time of 9:51.07. Jacee Pfeifer placed 1st in the 400 with a time of 57.76, 2nd in the 200 with a time of 25.82, and 2nd in the pole vault. Joining Jacee Pfeifer in the pole vault will be Sierra Schemper as she vaulted 9-05, good enough for 6th, and Baylie Bryant vaulted 11-06 which was good enough for 1st at districts. Kenzie Hurlburt will be running in the two mile as she placed 2nd with a time of 12:00.61. Baylee Barnett took 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:23.64. Barnett also will run in the mile as she placed 3rd with a time of 5:37.84. The 4x400 meter relay of Jacee Pfifer, Karli Hale, Ryan Melroy, and Baylee Barnett placed 4th but ran a good enough time of 4:10.58 to qualify for state. Cassidy Connell placed 2nd in the discus and will throw in Omaha as she tossed the discus 123-07.  Connell will also throw the shot as she took 1st with a throw of 41-10. Lexington competed at districts last week and the Minutemaids had six athletes qualify for state. Lexington's 4x800 meter relay placed 5th at districts, but their time was good enough to make state. Members of that relay were Madison Smith, Courtney Hanson, Mollie Rowe, and Leah Treffer. Madison Smith placed 2nd in the 400 with a time of 58.21. The 4x400 meter relay of Madison Smith, Leah Treffer, Mollie Rowe, and Courtney Hanson placed 3rd with a time of 4:08.44 which was good enough to make state. Madison Smith also will be competing in the long jump as she placed 2nd with a bound of 16-08.25. Hanna Brock placed 3rd in the high jump and that was good enough to make it to state as she leaped 5-0. Madison Sutton was the final qualifier in the discus as she placed 3rd with a toss of 121-09. Gothenburg competed at the B-6  district meet which was held in Ogallala. Three Gothenburg athletes qualified for the state meet in Omaha this week. Wyatt Hotz and Tyce Hruza each qualified in the pole vault. Hruza took 1st with a height of 14-0 and Hotz took 2nd with a vault of 13-04. Patrick Hudson qualified in the discus as he tossed the disc 150-02  and that was good enough for 3rd place. Team results can be found below:

Eight Lady Swedes Make State


Gothenburg's Lady Swedes had a good meet at the Ogallala B-6 district invite. Eight athletes for the Lady Swedes qualified in the tough district. The 4x800 meter relay of Liliana Sitorius, Madison Harpole, Courtney Harpole, and Kayla Weyers. This relay placed 1st in the district meet with a time of 9:57.88. Andie Geiken made state in the 400 with a time of 59.44 and she placed 2nd in the district meet. In the 800, Kayla Weyers placed 4th with a time of 2:23.7 and that was good enough to get her to state. The 4x400 meter relay placed 1st with a time of 4:08.58 and members of that relay were Kayla Weyers, Kasey Wellmann, Andie Geiken, and Madison Harpole. Kasey Wellman will be heading to state as she placed 1st in the long jump with a leap of 16-09. Amaya Ackerman also qualified as she placed 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 16-01.5. Arleigh Costello will throw at Omaha as she placed 3rd in districts with a throw of 38-02. In the triple jump, Kasey Wellmann placed 2nd in districts with a leap of 32-08. Haymakers Qualify One Athlete for the State Meet


Cozad competed at the B-6 district meet last Thursday in Ogallala and had one athlete make it to state. Cameron Griffis placed 3rd in the 400 with a time of 51.83. Griffis will run in the prelims on Friday at 5:45 pm. Jordan Menagh was the other Haymaker to place at the meet as he took 6th place in the pole vault with a vault of 12-10. Eight Lady Haymakers Qualify for State


Cozad competed in Ogallala for the B-6 district invite. For the Lady Haymakers, Darci Hoffmaster and Jercey Irish qualified for state in the 100 as Hoffmaster placed 2nd with a time of 12.88 and Irish placed 3rd with a time of 13.22. Hoffmaster also qualified in the 200 with a time of 26.45 and a 1st place finish. Hanna Wright will go to Burke Stadium and run in the 110-meter hurdles as she took 2nd with a time of 15.94. Whitney Applegate will run in the 3200-meter run as she took 3rd and ran a time of 12:26.37. The 4x100 meter relay of Mckenzie Lee, Jercey Irish, Darci Hoffmaster, and Carissa Jensen placed 1st with a time of 50.72. Kennedy Berreckman will compete in the high jump as she took 2nd with a leap of 5-02. Megan Burkholder is the final qualifier as she took 2nd in the pole vault with a vault of 10-03. Vikings Take Home District Title


Bertrand hosted the D-9 district meet last Wednesday and they took home the title and had a great day as a team. Wyatt Wilken qualified in for the state meet next week in Omaha in the 100 with a time of 11.2 which was good enough for 1st, in the 200 with a time of 23.4 and that was a 1st place finish as well, the long jump with a leap of 19-04 which was good enough for 1st, and in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 46.2. Joining Wilken on that relay will be Jordan Holen, Cooper Grabenstein, and Austin Long. Creighton Peterson will be headed to Omaha in both throws as he took 2nd in the discus with a throw of 125-11 and 1st in the shot put with a throw of 45-09.75. The pole vault was a good event for Bertrand as Sam Maloley took 1st with a vault of 11-08 and Ignacio Estrada placed 2nd with a vault of 11-08 as well. Riley Johnson will run in the 800 this week at state as he took 1st with a time of 2:07.3. Austin Long will also compete at state in the 110-meter hurdles as he placed 2nd with a time of 17.8. Lady Vikings Win District Title


Bertrand hosted the D-9 district track meet this past week and the Lady Vikings have a number of athletes competing this week at Omaha Burke stadium for the state track and field meet. Karmen Shmitt-Phillippi will run in the 100-meter dash in Omaha as she placed 2nd with a time of 13.1. Shmitt-Phillippi also will compete in the long jump as she took 2nd with a leap of 14-06.5. The 4x800 meter relay of Grace Straight, Kaylee Anderson, Tessa Callahan, and Grace Schwarz placed 1st with a time of 10:36.6. Kristine Edgren will also be heading to state in the shot put with a throw of 39-01.75. In the pole vault, Halle Dahlgren took 1st with a vault of 9-06 and Courtney Phillips finished 2nd with a vault of 9-06 as well. Halle Dahlgren also will run the 100-meter hurdles as she placed 2nd with time of 16.8. Tessa Callahan will go to state in the 300 hurdles as well as she took 2nd with a time of 49.9. The 4x400 meter relay slipped into state in the additional qualifiers as they placed 2nd with a time of 4:25.4 and members of that relay are Kristine Edgren, Grace Schwarz, Grace Straight, and Tessa Callahan. Elwood Qualifies Four Athletes


Elwood traveled to Bertrand for the D-9 district meet and had four Pirates qualify for state. Max Elliot finished 2nd in the 100 with a time of 11.5. Zacob Evans placed 2nd in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:40.40. Christian Reeves qualified in the shot put with a throw of 45-01.5 and that was good enough for 2nd place. Jake Gydesen was the fourth qualifier with a throw of 128-07 in the discus and that was good enough for 1st place. All of these athletes will compete at Omaha next weekend at the state meet. One Lady Pirate Qualifies for State


Elwood competed at Bertrand for the D-9 district invite and finished fourth as a team. Even with the strong team performance, Elwood only had one qualifier and that was Tiffany Dickau. Dickau took 1st in the 3200-meter run with a time 12:13.8. Dickau also took 1st in the mile with a time of 5:49.1. Dickau will run the 3200 on Friday and the mile on Saturday in Omaha. Knights Compete at Districts 


Eustis-Farnam competed at the D-9 district meet last week and the Knights had some solid performances and a state qualifier. Kaleb Gibbens finished 3rd in the shot put, just out of making it to state with a throw of 42-10.5. Gibbens also finished 6th in the discus with a throw of 118-10. The state qualifier for the Knights was Adrian Gerken. Gerken finished 2nd in the mile with a time of 5:04.7. Gerken then took home the title in the triple jump with a leap of 40-00.5. Gerken will jump on Friday and then run on Saturday at Omaha Burke. Team results can be found below:

Lady Knights Compete at District in Bertrand 


Eustis-Farnam competed in Bertrand last week. The Lady Knights didn't have any state qualifiers from the meet, but Eustis-Farnam did have some solid performances. Micky Blender placed 6th in the 100 with a time of 14.4. The 4x100 placed 3rd with a time of 57.6 and members of the relay were Micky Blender, Alisiah Young, Elizabeth Neukirch, and Ali Jones. In the triple jump, Ali Jones finished 5th with a leap of 29-07. Team results can be found below:
