Dusters Begin Year at UNK Indoor

Holdrege had their first meet of the season at the UNK indoor facility on Friday. The Dusters took the team title in the men's division with 155 points. In the 55 meter dash, Tim Kaslon took 2nd place with a time of 6.94 and Seth Breinig took 3rd with a time of 7.02. In the 200 Seth Breinig took another medal with a 1st place finish with a time of 25.09 and Alex Wells took 2nd in the race as well with a time of 25.34. In the 800, Trevor Matousek grabbed 1st place with a time of 2:09.07 and Zac Hurlburt took 2nd place with a time of 2:12.91. In the mile Gavin Klein took 1st with a time of 4:54.40. In the field events Preston Melroy took 2nd in the shot put with a toss of 45-01 and 3rd was taken by Payton Kidder with a throw of 43-05. Team results for the class B meet were as follows:

Lady Dusters Take 3rd Place at UNK Indoor


Holdrege competed at the UNK indoor on Saturday and the Lady Dusters nabbed 3rd place at the meet. Sydney Reed ran a time of 1:05.66 in the 400 and that was good enough for a 3rd place finish. in the 800 Baylee Barnett grabbed 1st place with a time of 2:31.28. The mile was a good race for Holdrege as Kenzie Hurlburt took 1st with a time of 5:51.54 and 2nd place was taken by Jirsie Klein with a time of 5:58.77. In the field events Cassidy Connel took 1st in the shot put with a toss of 38-08.5 and she grabbed a 2nd place finish in the discus with a throw of 109-04. In pole vault,three medals were taken by Holdrege as Baylie Bryant took 1st with a vault of 11-00, Jacee Pfeifer took 2nd with a height of 11-00, and Sierra Schemper took 5th with a vault of 8-06. Minutemen Compete at Concordia Indoor Meet

Lexington opened the track season last week with a meet at Concordia. The Minutemen finished 8th out of the 13 teams with 26 team points. In the sprints, Dalton Schumaker had a nice day taking 5th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.52 and 5th in the 200 with a time of 24.46. Kobe Block took 2nd in the 400 with a time of 54.35. In the team's 4x400 relay, they took 4th place with a time of 3:48.95 and members of that relay were Kobe Block, Jose Orantes, Logan Callahan, and Jairo Alvarez. Ajack Waikur was a leader in the field events as he took 1st in the high jump with a leap of 6-00. The team results can be found below:

Minutemaids Begin Track Season

Lexington began track last week with a meet on Thursday at the Concordia invite. The Minutemaids took 7th at the meet with 29 points, and that was good enough for 7th place. In the 60 meter dash Makenzie Johnson took 5th with a time of 8.57. In the 4x400 relay the Minutemaids took 3rd with a time of 4:24.98, members of the relay were Courtney Hansen, Leah Treffer, Mollie Rowe, and Jami White. the 4x800 relay also competed well taking 4th place with a time of 11:22.48, members of that relay were Leah Treffer, Mollie Rowe, Cecilia Rios, and Mckenna Kiburz. In the field events, triple jump was dominated but Lexington as they took the 2nd and 3rd places. Hana Brock took 2nd with a leap of 33-01 and Courtney Hansen grabbed 3rd with a leap of 31-08.75. Southern Valley Competes at UNK Indoor


Southern Valley began their track season this past week and it was an indoor meet at UNK. The Eagles placed 5th out of the seven teams at the meet. Jaden Quinn had a good day in the 400 running a 1:00.33 and placing 4th. In the mile Ivan Varela took 1st with a time of 5:11.83. Dalton Yost also placed in the mile for Southern Valley as he took 5th with a time of 5:28.77. The 4x400 relay for Southern Valley competed well also, placing fourth with a time of 4:07.50 and members of that were Jaden Quinn, Ivan Varela, Dalton Yost, and Zach Long. The class C meet results were as follows:

Southern Valley started their track season at the UNK indoor meet as many area teams did. The Lady Eagles took home 5th amongst the seven teams at the meet. Becca Lennemann took home 3rd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.58.  Savana Quinn ran well in the 55 meter hurdles taking 2nd place with a time of 9.77. In the field events, Kylee Woodring placed 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 33-03. In the high jump Lennemann took 2nd with a leap of 4-08 and Eve Rascon finished 5th with a jump of 4-04. Elm Creek Starts Year With 5th Place Finish at UNK

Elm Creek had their first track meet of the season at the UNK indoor invitational on Thursday. The Buffaloes took 5th place in the class D division, with some great performances. In the 55 meter dash Devon Walker took 4th place with a time of 6.99. In the mid-distance run, Nolan Meier took 3rd on the 800 with a time of 2:21.94. In the field events, high jump was a good event for the Buffaloes as a pair of athletes medaled. Preston Walker won the event with a jump of 5-10 and Anthony Quintana took 3rd place with a leap of 5-08. The pole vault also was a success for Elm Creek as Devon Walker took 2nd with a vault of 10-06 and Tanner Swartwood vaulted 10-00 and finished 4th. The final meet results are shown below:

Lady Buffaloes Compete at UNK Indoor


Elm Creek competed on Thursday at the UNK indoor meet and they put up 18 points and placed 11th out of the host of teams at the meet. Claire Cornell had a big day on the track as she finished 3rd place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.69 and 1st in the 18-09.50 with a leap of 18-09.50, which was three feet better than 2nd place. Taylor Moes also placed 5th in the long jump for Elm Creek as she leaped 14-04.75.  Those were the only athletes that placed for Elm Creek but Hannah Keim ran a 31.38 in the 200 in a loaded field of sprinters. The final results of the class D meet are below:

Loomis Competes at UNK Indoor


Loomis had just one competitor at the UNK indoor meet on Thursday, but it was a good way for Loomis to get their season started. The Wolves were unable to get any points on the board but Trevor Maaske placed 11th in the shot put on Thursday with a toss of 39-10.5. Vikings Start Year With Top Three Finish

Bertrand had their first track meet of the season and it was at UNK in the indoor facility. The Vikings came away with a 3rd place finish as a team. Riley Johnson had a good day as he took 4th in the 1600 with a time of 5:21.01. The 4x800 relay team for Bertrand finished 4th with a time of 9:38.24, and the athletes in that were Isiah Schwarz, Chandler Wagner, Tyler Callahan, and Riley Johnson. In the shot put Creighton Peterson tossed it 47-01.00, and that was good enough for a 2nd place finish. The UNK class D results were as follows:

Lady Vikings Start Year with 6th Place Finish at UNK Indoor

Bertrand had their first meet of the season this past week and it was the indoor invite at UNK. The Lady Vikings took 6th place and had some strong performances. In the mile, Grace Straight finished 4th place with a time 6:27.62, and Kaylee Anderson placed 6th in the mile with a time of 6:44.35. In the field events, Courtney Phillips had a nice day at pole vault, as she vaulted 9-06 and received 2nd place. Kristine Edgren had a good day throwing, as she tossed the shot put 40-11 for 1st place. The UNK indoor class D meet results were as follows:

Haymakers Start Year at UNK Indoor


Cozad competed on Saturday at the class B indoor invite at UNK. The Boys struggled finishing 6th out of seven teams, but there were some very solid individual performances. Chandler Brock took 4th in the mile with a time of 5:32.92. Cameron Griffis ran very well in the 400 for the Haymakers with a time of 55.71 and that was a 3rd place finish and in the 200 with a time of 25.44 and that was a 6th place finish for him. Jordan Menaugh had a very strong performance finishing 1st in the pole vault with a vault of 12-00. Meet results were as follows for the Haymaker boys:

Cozad began their season on the track at the UNK indoor on Saturday against 6 other teams. Cozad finished 5th as a team as there were a number of solid teams at the meet. Darci Hoffmaster had a nice day on the track as she placed 4th in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.72. In the 200, Brenna Dugan took 6th with a time of 30.10. In the 800, the Lady Haymakers were able to snatch up a couple of medals as Ashley Burkholder took 3rd with a time of 2:39.99 and Katelyn Calhoun took 4th with a time of 2:41.84. Eustis-Farnam Boys Begin Track Season at UNK

Eustis-Farnam started the season on the track at the UNK indoor meet as they took 15th place out of 18 teams. A key performer for Eustis-Farnam was Adrian Gerken as he took home two medals, 4th place in the triple jump with a leap of 39-9.5,  and a 5th place finish in the 1600 with a time of 5:24.37. Austin Bastianos had a solid meet taking 4th in the 200 with a time of 25.67. Head Coach Caleb Wall had this to say about his team in the opening meet, "Adrian’s triple jump of 39’9” was a personal best by three feet. With Adrian’s natural athleticism and speed, this is an event that he could do quite well in. Adrian’s 5th place effort in the mile was a good start to the season." Eustis-Farnam will compete on Wednesday at the Maywood-Hayes Center meet in McCook.  Team results for the UNK indoor were as follows:

Eustis-Farnam started off with a tough meet at the UNK indoor invite on Thursday and the Lady Knights were unable to get on the board points wise, but they did have some good performances. Alisiah Young had a one-foot improvement with her shot put, tossing it 29-08.5 and that was good enough for an 11th place finish. Micky Blender finished 18th in the 200 with a time of 31.04. Head Coach Caleb Wall said the competition was tough, but more workouts will improve the team. Solid Start to Season for Elwood Boys Track Team

Elwood began the track season on Thursday with the annual UNK indoor meet. The boys started the season with an 8th place finish at the meet. A couple of Pirates ran well in the 3200 as Zacob Evans placed 2nd with a time of 11:44.17 and Ben Bogle took 3rd with a time of 12:09.72. In the field events, Aaron Clouse tied for fourth place finishing at a height of 10-0. Christian Reeves competed well in the shot put posting a 6th place finish with a toss of 43-07. Lady Pirates Take 4th at UNK Indoor


Elwood began the year with a very strong start as they competed at the UNK indoor meet on Thursday. The Lady Pirates posted a 4th place finish out of the 18 teams competing. Tiffany Dickau set the pace for the Lady Pirates taking three medals. She had two first place finishes, one in the 3200 with a time of 13:09 and the 1600 with a time of 6:05, and she had a fourth place finish with the 4x800 relay that ran a 2:38. Taylor Hickey had a nice day as well finishing 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:41, and she was part of the 4th place 4x800 relay. Manon Martin ran well as she took 5th in the 3200 with a time of 16:31.77. Elwood will to build on the strong start and compete at the Maywood-Hayes Center invite which will be on Wednesday, in McCook. Swedes Find Success at Burke

Gothenburg had a good number of athletes compete at the state track meet this last weekend and found success. 
Madelyn Vogel placed 5th in the discus with a toss of 123-07. 
The girls 4x800 relay took 5th with a time of 9:55.43 and the 4x100 relay took 5th as well with a time of 51.23. 
Madison Gilg placed 3rd in the 100 with a time of 12.73. 
For the boys Tyce Hruza placed 7th in pole vault, with a height of 14-00. 
Dylan France took 7th in the high jump with a leap of 6-02.

Lexington Competes at Burke

Lexington had a few athletes compete in Omaha this past weekend at the state track meet. 
For the girls Jami White did not final in the 400, but ran a time of 1:02.23. 
For the boys John Mark Shields placed 8th in the two mile with a time of 9:57.15. 
Josh White didn't final in the 100 but ran a time of 11.28.

Holdrege had a good weekend at Omaha this weekend for the state track meet. 
Jacee Pfeifer placed 6th in the pole vault with a vault of 10-06 and 3rd in the 400 with a time of 59.03
For the boys Blake Schroeder took home two 3rd place medals in the shot put with a toss of 55-00.25, and the discus, with a throw of 174-11.

Cozad din’t have any boys make it to Omaha, but the Haymakers had a good group of girls make it to Burke.

Vikings Find Success at Burke

Bertrand had a nice pair of days at Burke Stadium this weekend for state track. 
 Tyrell Younger placed 2nd in the pole vault with a vault of 14-06. 
Cole Kennedy took 2nd in the two mile with a time if 10:09.5, 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:00.79, and 2nd in the mile with a time of 4:38.12. 
For the girls Mollie Kaps took 3rd in the pole vault with a height of 10-2. 
Courtney Phillips placed 6th in the pole vault with a vault of 9-10.

Cambridge had success this past weekend in Omaha at state track. 
For the boys the Trojans 4x100 relay took 5th with a time of 45.43. 
Jackson Ebbers placed 6th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.25. 
For the girls Kaelie Tomlin placed 8th in the pole vault with a vault of 9-0. 
Alea Shaner placed 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 17-0.75 and 1st in the triple jump with a length of 36-09.75.

Elm Creek had a solid number of athletes compete in Omaha. 
For the boys, Domnic Johns was the only athlete to place, finishing 7th in the long jump with a leap of 19-11. 
For the girls Claire Cornell had a nice day including an all-class gold in the long jump with a leap of 17-11.5 and an 8th place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.94.

Collin Rodenbaug took 6th in the shot put with a throw of 49-11.5. 
Levi Asp didn’t make finals in the 100, but ran a time of 11.81. 
For the girls Michaela Marcy took 4th in the two mile with a time of 12:12.85 and 3rd in the mile with a time of 5:31.75.

Overton didn’t have a lot of athletes qualify for the state meet, but the competitors that did make it, competed hard.

Lady Pirates Compete at Burke

Elwood didn’t qualify and boys for the state meet in Omaha, but they were represented well by the girl qualifiers. 
Holly Lonowski finished 11th in the pole vault with a vault of 8-06. 
Amber Weber finished 16th in the shot put with a toss of 33-07.75. 
Tiffany Dickau placed 10th in the 3200 just two spots away from a medal with a time of 12:28.53. In the mile Dickau finished 13th with a time of 5:52.43.

Jessica Deterding competed in Omaha this past weekend against stiff competition.

Lexington had a tough district this past week, but they were able to get  some athletes to Omaha. 
Josh White placed 2nd in the 200 with a time of 22.62. 
John Shields also placed 2nd in the 3200 with a time of 10:13.38.

Cozad Struggles at Districts

Cozad competed at the B-5 district track meet and had some struggles. 
But with that struggle came success for Kennedy Berreckman as she took 1st in the high jump with a leap of 5-01, and will be heading to Omaha.

Holdrege Competes in Districts

Holdrege had a solid amount of athletes who will be heading to Omaha this week. 
Jacee Pfeifer took 2nd in the pole vault with a vault of 10-11, and 2nd in the 400 with a time of 58.82.  Cassidy Connell also is heading to Omaha in the shot put with a throw of 38-10.5. 
For the boys Cooper Rogers took 1st in the 100 with a time of 10.95. 
Blake Schroeder took 2nd in both shot and disc.

Gothenburg Sends Solid Group to Omaha

Gothenburg competed at the B-6 district invite last Thursday and had solid performances. 
For the girls Blaire Gibbens is Burke bound in the high jump with a leap of 4-11. 
Madison Gilg placed 1st in the 100 with a time of 12.58. 
For the boys Tryce Hruza took 1st in the pole vault with a vault of 14-00.25.

Overton Competes at D-7 District Meet

Overton had a tough competition at the D-7 district meet and it showed as they struggled to get athletes to Omaha. 
McKenzie Beavers took 1st in the discus with a toss of 113-7, so she will be Burke bound.
