Colorado couple killed, Gering man injured in Scotts Bluff Co. accident

An engaged couple in their 60s from Colorado Springs, Colorado were killed in a crash while en route to visit the woman's son in Sioux County.

Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner confirmed that 69-year-old driver Jimmie Skinner, and his 68-year-old passenger and fiancee Patricia Timerman died from injures suffered in the collision, which occurred at the intersection of Highway 92 and Stegall Road in Scotts Bluff County.

Warner said the couple, who were northbound on Stegall Road failed to yield to a stop sign and struck an eastbound vehicle on Highway 92, driven by 30-year-old Zacharie Hays of Gering. He is listed in fair condition at Regional West Medical Center this morning.

Timerman's son was waiting for the couple in nearby Mitchell, and when the couple did not show up, he followed emergency vehicles to the accident. The accident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m.
