Mother also arrested in son's child abuse case
A 20-year-old Lexington woman has been arrested on a Dawson County Warrant for Felony Child Abuse in connection with injuries to her son. A Lexington Police affidavit says Kelsey Dangler brought her then 17-month-old son to Lexington Regional Health Center on February 18th. Medical staff detected a bleed on the side of his skull causing pressure to the brain. Dangler's boyfriend, 21-year-old Christopher Perez of North Platte, has already been arrested on a similar charge in the case. Dangler told investigators that Perez was playing with the boy and tried to jump over a child gate but, caught his foot and had fallen on top of the child. Other injuries were documented on the boy that were believed to have occurred prior to the alleged incident and investigators believe Dangler failed to report them to law enforcement or seek medical treatment. Court records do not indicate more about the boy's present condition.
Dangler was released from jail after 10% of $20,000 bond was posted for her. Her arraignment has been set for April 22nd at 9:00am. Perez was arrested on February 26th in North Platte. He was released from custody on 10% of $100,000 bond.
