Former Lexington coach is not headed east
Former Lexington head football coach Bob Jones has not taken a position with the Lincoln Haymakers Indoor football team as reported by other media outlets. Jones stepped down after one year at Lexington this spring so he would be available to travel to Texas to help out with his ailing father in law.
Jones told KRVN sports that he has spoken with new Lincoln head coach Trever Whiting about a possible position in the future but nothing has been signed or finalized. Jones is still employed by the Lexington public schools as its migrant worker coordinator. Lincoln practices on Thursday and Friday's and then plays on the weekends in the spring. The Haymakers season runs from mid March through early June.
