Heineman: Obama, Boehner must take leadership roles on "fiscal cliff"
Governor Dave Heineman says President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner need to take leadership roles in addressing the pending "fiscal cliff".
While Heineman says he has not seen an estimate on how much Nebraska may lose if an agreement is not reached, he knows the state's economy will be impacted if a deal is not made. Estimates in Colorado indicate a $2 billion loss to its economy.
Heineman told KNEB News Boehner and Obama are the two most powerful men in Washington, and that's where the buck stops.
Heineman says Nebraska may be in better shape than some states to address the negative impact of no agreement, but he says the leaders in Washington should be able to solve the problem.
