Yori and Huskers get ready to dance

No. 24 Nebraska makes its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, when the Huskers take on Chattanooga on Saturday, March 23 at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.

Tip-off between the No. 6 seed Huskers (23-8, 12-4 Big Ten) and No. 11 seed Lady Mocs (29-3, 19-1 SoCon) will be at approximately 5:30 p.m. (30 minutes after the conclusion of the first-round game between the No. 3 seed and hosts from Texas A&M (24-9, 11-5 SEC) and the No. 14 seed Wichita State (24-9, 15-3 Missouri Valley), which is set for a 3 p.m. tip.

The Huskers, who have won 11 of their last 13 games, were the Big Ten regular-season runner-up and advanced to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals in their second season in the conference.

NU's only losses since Jan. 20 have come to Big Ten regular-season champion and NCAA Tournament No. 3 seed Penn State and Big Ten Tournament champion and NCAA Tournament No. 4 seed Purdue.

Nebraska is making its 11th NCAA appearance in school history and its third in the last four seasons (2010, 2012, 2013). The Huskers were a No. 6 seed in Little Rock, Ark., last season and a No. 1 seed in Minneapolis, Minn., in 2010. Nebraska owns a 5-10 all-time record in the tournament, including a 3-4 mark under Coach Connie Yori. The 2010 WBCA, Kay Yow, Naismith, Associated Press, and USBWA National Coach of the Year, Yori is appearing in her seventh NCAA Tournament as a head coach while leading her fifth Nebraska team to the Big Dance. Yori also led NU to back-to-back NCAA bids in 2007 and 2008.
