Sidney man charged in accident that injured 8
A 22 year old Sidney man is facing three felony charges in relation to a single vehicle accident that injured eight people near Sidney a week ago Sunday.
According to Cheyenne County Court records, Cory Lundgren is charged with three counts of driving under the influence - causing serious bodily injury, a class 3A felony.
Lundgren is accused of driving his 2009 GMC Sierra Pickup south on a minimum maintenance road in Sidney when he went across a ditch and slammed into an embankment. The arrest affidavit says statements indicated the group had been drinking at Oktoberfest prior to the crash. Lundgren had an official blood alcohol of .151.
The Nebraska State Patrol says Lungdren, and passengers 24-year-old Ashely Wells and 26-year-old Valarie Wright, both of Sidney; and 32-year-old Tavin Cooper of Lincoln, were transported to Regional West Medcical Center in Scottsbluff. Four other passengers -- 21-year-old Matthew Wells, 24-year-old Isidro Alvarado, 26-year-old Morgan Peterson, and 22-year-old Quin Lund, all of Sidney, were transported to Memorial Health Center in Sidney. Wells sustained a broken jaw, missing teeth, a broken right arm, and a broken bone in her foot. Wright sustained a fractured hip. Cooper sustained a broken left femur.
None of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
The accident happened just before 1:15 a.m. a week ago Sunday morning. (10/7)

A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for Lundgren on October 29th at 9 am. Bond is set at $75,000.
