The 64th Annual Arts & Crafts Workshop, hosted by the Great Plains Creative Arts Association, is being held April 9th-12th at Camp Comeca in Cozad.

Board President Vicki Jorgensen says workshops involve turning tall popcorn cans into bird houses.

"We have tin bird houses, and these are made from the for instance the popcorn tins that you get for Christmas, the tall tins with the lids. And you take those and you convert them into bird houses."

Other workshops include stain glass, wood carving, loom weaving, water color and oil painting, pine needle art, jewelry, nitting and scarf making, and heirloom teddy bears.

Jorgensen says quilting is another workshop being offered.

"This class involves a sewing machine, and all your basic supply needs. And the instructor teaches new quilting patterns every year. This year she's making a Christmas Tree skirt and a jelly roll quilt."

People can sign up by calling Jorgensen at 402-649-5401 or 402-646-2280.
