Chadron man arrested for multiple child offenses

A Chadron man is being held on $250,000 bond after his arrest on multiple child pornography and sexual assault charges. Chadron Police say James Savery was taken into custody Wednesday evening on suspicion of four counts of possession of child pornography and 8 counts of first degree sexual assault of a child.

Chadron Police obtained a search warrant on Savery's North Lake Street residence after receiving information from a Rapid City detective about a man suspected of downloading child pornography. Police Chief Tim Lordino says police seized computers cell phones, data recording and storage devices along with other electronic devices and multiple CD's.

Police say two children were placed in the custody of the state.
