Farmers Impacted by Sandy: Document Losses

USDA Farm Service Agency Administrator Juan Garcia urges farmers and ranchers to keep thorough records of all losses they experienced from Hurricane Sandy. This includes documentation with photos or videos of the number and kind of livestock that have died; dates of death proved through birth recordings or purchase receipts; costs of transporting livestock; feed purchases if supplies or pastures are destroyed; crop records, seed and fertilizer purchases, planting records and production records; pictures of on-farm storage facilities destroyed; and evidence of damaged farm land. Right now - FSA has 15.5-million dollars available for producers who may need assistance.
