Dallas Tonsager Leaving USDA

USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager says he is moving on to the next chapter in his life after twelve gratifying years in USDA leadership positions. Tonsager says he is proud of USDA's record accomplishments - especially those of his Rural Development colleagues. He notes Rural Development has carried out more work to help rural communities in recent years than at any other time in the agency's history. Tonsager cites providing affordable, quality housing in rural America; helping tens of thousands of rural businesses; and playing a key role in helping rural Americans create homegrown energy. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says Tonsager's efforts as Under Secretary for Rural Development have helped increase opportunity for thousands of rural families, businesses and communities. Vilsack says Tonsager's service to USDA under the Obama Administration was the latest part of a distinguished career of service to agriculture and rural America.
