CSU wants to hear farmers' experience with drought
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) _ Researchers at Colorado State University want to hear from farmers across the state who have been affected by this year's drought.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/Ur5rFD ) CSU agricultural economists want to gauge the full impact of the drought in hopes of designing new tools to more effectively weather future dry spells.
Farmers have until Jan. 1 to contribute to the project, called ``Telling the Story _ Drought in Colorado.''
The economists want to hear from the 6,000 farmers in Colorado that have an annual income of more than $100,000 _ the producers, researchers say, that form the core of the state's agriculture industry.
Project leader James Pritchett says feedback from farmers ``helps us design assistance going into the future.''
