NCBA National Anthem Contest Winner Chosen
The National Cattlemen's Beef Association has announced the winner of its National Anthem contest. Eleven-year old Kansas native Rylee Werth will sign the National Anthem during the Opening General Session of the 2014 NCBA Cattle Industry Convention Tuesday, February 4th and at the Grand Ole Opry House during the Cowboy's Night at the Opry II. Werth is actively involved in showing cattle at the local and national level and hopes to continue her involvement by one day showing at the American Royal and National Western Stock Show. NCBA President Scott George says the number of votes collected through Facebook and beefusa dot org to decide the winner was impressive. Over 16-thousand votes were cast. He says the convention is on pace to be one of the largest ever and NCBA hoes cattlemen and women nationwide will participate in the events, education and grassroots policy process. Registration is required to attend. The deadline for early registration and a discounted price is January 10th.
