American Angus Association Provides Internship, Scholarship Opportunities
The American Angus Association and its entities offer five paid internships and two scholarship programs for college students passionate about beef to get the experience they need to keep the cattle industry strong.
The AAA Activities and Events Department is offering an internship focusing on event planning for a college sophomore, junior or senior interested in agriculture. The internship would begin on or before June 1st. Applications for this internship are due February 5th and should be sent to email@example.com with a cover letter, resume and references.
The AAA Junior Activities Department is providing a college sophomore, junior or senior the opportunity to assist with preparations, communications and correspondence for junior shows and events. Applicants must be majoring in an agricultural-related field. Send a cover letter, resume and references to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 5th.
The AAA Communications and Public Relations Department is accepting applications from college juniors or seniors studying journalism, ag communications or related fields for an internship from early-May to mid-August. Send a cover letter, resume, references and writing samples to email@example.com by February 5th.
Angus Productions Inc. is offering a college student the opportunity to be part of the editorial team for various publications. The internship is 10-weeks long - from late-May to mid-August. Certified Angus Beef is offering a 10 to 12-week internship from mid-May to mid-August to college juniors and seniors pursuing degrees in ag journalism, communications or animal science. The Angus Foundation offers scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Eligible applicants are Angus youth. Applications will be available on December 1st.
Certified Angus Beef's Colvin Scholarship Fund will provide six scholarships in 2013 totaling $20,000. College juniors and seniors who have demonstrated commitment to the beef industry are encouraged to apply by December 7th. Visit www.certifiedangusbeef.com/press/colvin for more information.
