UNL Adding 3 Specialists in Scottsbluff
The University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff will fill two vacant positions and add a third under a plan announced this week.
In strengthening programs top university priorities include the filling of local specialist positions in water resource utilization and dryland cropping and the adding of a forage and grassland ecology specialist.
Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dean and Director of Research Dr. Archie Clutter says the three positions are part restructuring and the adding of 36 positions over the next 18 months.
IANR is experiencing record undergraduate enrollment along with a 20 percent increase in research grants.
Speaking at the Scottsbluff-Gering Chamber Agribusiness Committee Meeting Wednesday, Dr. Clutter says says UNL will immediately begin to put together search committees to start the hiring process.
