Congressman Concerned About Ag Secretary, President Obama Priorities”
Kansas Congressman and House Ag Committee Member Tim Huelskamp sent a letter to Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack on August 6th requesting Vilsack send him a list of specific priorities for the farm bill by August 13th. Huelskamp has not received priorities from Vilsack - and he says while he is disappointed - he isn't surprised. Vilsack and President Obama traveled to Iowa this past week to campaign - and Huelskamp says they seem too busy with campaigning to consider the consequences of the Senate adjourning without a vote on the disaster relief package. Even though the deadline has passed - Huelskamp says he still hopes Vilsack takes the time to respond to his letter.
