USDA Announces More Grants to Support Sustainable Bioenergy Production
On Friday - Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced 10-million dollars in research grants through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Institute of Food and Agriculture's Agriculture and Food Research Initiative to enhance production of bioenergy and biobased products to develop sustainable regional systems and create jobs. Vilsack says these projects will give USDA the scientific information needed to support biofuel production and create co-products to enhance the biobased economy. He says with a strong and diversified U.S. ag sector - the American automobile industry has a greater incentive to expand the use of biobased products and also support good-paying jobs in the United States.
