Movie Brings America to Wheat Belt
Wheat.....it's a staple of nation's food supply, but most don't know where it's grown or how the finished product got the supermarket. In a interview with KNEB/Rural Radio Network, Film Director Conrad Weaver of Conjo Studios has a vision to show America how the nation's wheat is harvested through his film documentary "Great American Wheat Harvest". Weaver says the project is one step closer to reality with the sponsoring of John Deere.
Filming will begin this winter Weaver and the film's production crew will travel to Colby, Kanas to meet with one custom harvester. The story will begin when the crew picks up their equipment as they prepare for harvest.
In February, March and April, the film crew will be shooting interviews and telling the story of several different harvest crews and the process of gearing up for harvest.
The film will be true documentary with Weaver following four separate harvest crews , but there is no script. As things progress throughout the story change, Weaver says film crew will follow story, but he does have some key benchmarks in telling the story.
The Great American Wheat Harvest documentary will debut in 2014 at the National AG Day event in Washington DC. Then the movie will debut in a harvest-run movie tour - - where the film will be shown in all the wheat states in movie theaters in Texas to Canada. Locally, the film will be shown at the Midwest Theater in Scottsbluff, Neb.
