Velma Pauline Reiman, 80 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska

Memorial Services for Velma P. Reiman will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home at Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska.

Velma Pauline Reiman, 80 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Christian Homes Care Community of Holdrege. Velma was born June 8, 1932 at Parks, Nebraska, the 7th of 8 children born to Ami and Alta (Sampson) Teel. Velma received her education from Parks Public Schools, graduating from Parks High School in southwest Nebraska with the class of 1950. She then pursued higher education at McCook Junior College to receive her teaching credentials. She then taught elementary school in Dundy County in one room schools.

On May 14, 1954 she was united in marriage to Edward David Reiman at Benkelman, Nebraska and to this union four were born: David, Teresa, Debra and Robert. With Ed's career as a Superintendent, the family made their home in several Nebraska communities including: Clay Center, Hay Springs, Kenesaw, Nebraska before retiring to Holdrege.

Velma's special interests were collecting antiques, crocheting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all she loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Russell and Wayne Teel and sister, Lola Anderson.

Velma leaves to mourn her passing; her devoted and loving husband of almost 59 years, Ed Reiman of Holdrege; two sons: David Reiman and his wife, Kathy of Rocklin, California and Robert Reiman and his wife, Carla of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters: Teresa Kroll and her husband, Darrel of Holdrege and Debby Dornhoff and her husband, Steve of Republican City, Nebraska; ten grandchildren: Toni Bartling and her husband, Brandon, Ryan Kroll and his wife, Faithe, Tyler Kroll, Jay Crawford and his wife, Jolene, Kyle Crawford, Lea Bowen and her husband, James, Katie Dornhoff, Cole Dornhoff and his wife, Amanda, Kevin Wickenkamp and his wife, Cindy and Kris Bennett and her husband, Greg; five great-grandchildren: Evan Bartling, Emma Kroll, Pearl Connolly, and Lucas and Logan Bennett; three sisters: Jeanne Osborne of Tucson, Arizona, Marjorie Lutz and her husband, Linn of Santa Maria, California and Carol Crook of Sacramento, California; one brother, Lyle Teel and his wife, Barbara of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Velma's honor and will be designated at a later date.
