Andrijeski wins title
Curtis resident Regina Andrijeski recently won the 2013 Nebraska Auctioneer State Championship at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island.
Andrijeski says becoming the first female to win it meant a lot to her.
"Obviously being the champion for the state of Nebraska is a huge, huge honor. But also being the first woman to win that title was really, really special to me. So I was very honored to do that."
As part of winning the championship, Andrijeski will compete in the 2014 International Auctioneers Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.
She says she's looking forward to it.
"That will be another great part of being the Nebraska champion is I will go onto Louisville, Kentucky in July of 2014. And I will go on and represent the state of Nebraska in that competition. I've competed there three times now on the international level. And it's a whole different ball game when you get into the international level."
Andrijeski first competed at the international level in 2009. She started competing at the state level in 2007. She went to Auctioneer school in 2005.
