Nancy Lee Paine, 76 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska (formerly of Edison)
Funeral Services for Nancy L. Paine will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Wes Holen officiating. Interment will be held following the services in the Edison Cemetery at Edison, Nebraska.
Nancy Lee Paine, 76 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska (formerly of Edison) passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Nancy was born October 9, 1936 in Holdrege, the daughter of LeRoy S. and Irene (Moore) Barber. She received her education from Holdrege Public Schools.
On February 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donald R. Paine and to this union four children were born: Randal, Donna, Michael, and Cheryl. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Nancy enjoyed focusing on being a housewife and mother. In 1958 the family moved to Edison. Later in years, Nancy provided in-home child care for area families, was employed at the Edison Market for several years until owning the Edison CafĂ© for approximately five years. Nancy then became employed by the Oxford Public Schools as a cook for fifteen years prior to her retirement. Following retirement, Nancy and Don moved to Holdrege in the spring of 2007.
Nancy was a member of the Oxford Evangelical Free Church, enjoyed camping, tending to her yard, and most of all she loved attending her children's activities, and later in years her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Randal Lee Paine in 2005; and two brothers-in-law: Robert and Doug Paine.
Nancy leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 60 years, Don of Holdrege; two daughters: Donna Fisher and her husband, Dan of Arapahoe, Nebraska and Cheryl Luke and her husband, Travis of Millersberg, Indiana; one son, Mike Paine and his wife, Anne of Oxford, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren: 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Chopp and her husband, Fred of Seattle, Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. Â– 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. Â– 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Nancy's honor and will be designated at a later date.
