Vicki Lee Peterson, 66 years of age, of Holdrege


Memorial Services for Vicki L. Peterson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gale Dorn officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

Vicki Lee Peterson, 66 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at her home in Holdrege following an 8 ½ year battle with cancer. Vicki was born October 7, 1946 at Renton, Washington, the daughter of Donald and Imogene (Bell) Peterson. When Vicki was a young child, the family moved to Holdrege. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Vicki received her primary education from Funk Public School through the eighth grade and then attended Holdrege High School.

Following her education, she was united in marriage to Dennis Jordan in 1966 and to this union one daughter, Angela was born. Vicki began a career in food service as a waitress, which spanned most of her life including employment at the Hotel Dale, Goodrich Dairy, the Taste of Country, and the Hasty Lanes.

On July 10, 1973, Vicki was united in marriage to Wes Peterson and to this union three children were born: Heather Dawn, Wade Weston (who was born at rest), and Brandy May. The family enjoyed special times fishing together, hunting, and Vicki loved to tend to her garden.

Vicki was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege and past member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Wade Weston.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her husband, Wes of Holdrege; three daughters: Angela Simpson and her husband, Kevin of Rhome, Texas, Heather Wallace and her husband, Jon of Holdrege, and Brandy Peterson and her fiancé, Mark Bennett of Holdrege; ten grandchildren: Sarah Wissmueller, Khrystyne, Zachary, Jordan, and Austin Simpson, Amanda and Morgan Jones, Bryce Gosselin, Preston Barnes, and Ethan Peterson Watson; two great-grandchildren: Adelyn and Aria Wissmueller; one brother, Terry Gugle and his wife, Mary of Manhattan, Kansas; two aunts: Winnie Enquist of Elm Creek, Nebraska and Jane Bell of Kearney, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Vicki's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Vicki's honor and will be designated at a later date.
