Fund Set Up For West Point Fire Victims

A fund has been set up at F&M Bank for the Ed and Charity Walker family of West Point, who lost their belongings in a Christmas Eve fire.

The West Point Fire Department was called out in freezing weather Tuesday morning to a house fire at 105 Ash.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Heavy smoke was pouring from the windows when fire fighters arrived.

Neighbors say the family was in Omaha at the time of the fire, visiting their daughter Hope at the hospital.

Friends say Hope had been in a traffic accident just northwest of West Point near Beemer a day earlier suffering broken bones.
