Teen fights the law, law wins
A 19-year-old man in North Platte fought the law, literally, and the law won.
According to the North Platte Police Department, officers conducted an investigative stop on a suspicious vehicle at approximately 1:40 a.m. November 28th. Officers suspected that the vehicle's occupants had been involved in breaking into other vehicles and stealing.
Officers noted the smell of alcohol on the breath of the driver, Michael Craig. They also witnessed an open container in the vehicle, according to a department statement.
Craig attempted to flee on foot and "wrestled" with the cops when they caught up with him, police said. He was subdued and arrested, charged with assault of an officer, resisting arrest, and minor in possession of alcohol.
Craig's behavior in North Platte is tame, however, compared to the trouble he allegedly caused in Kentucky. Police discovered Craig had an active warrant out of Hancock County, Kentucky, on five misdemeanor charges and 20 felony sexual charges.
He is being held in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
