Stanley Max Luke, 81 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska and Yuma, Arizona

Funeral Services for Stanley Max "Stan" Luke will be conducted on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Reverend Eldon Fablinger officiating. Interment will be at the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford, with Military Honors conducted by the Oxford American Legion Post # 219.

Stanley Max Luke, 81 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska and Yuma, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home in Yuma. Stan was born October 25, 1931 in Powell, Wyoming, the seventh of eight children born to Bruce and Grace (Beam) Luke. He attended school at Mascot graduating from Mascot High School with the class of 1949.

On August 12, 1952, he was inducted into the United States Army in Omaha, Nebraska, serving his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on August 11, 1954 at Camp Sealfeldon, Austria.

He met and was united in marriage to Anna H. "Angie" Nabicht in Vienna, Austria and to this union two children were born: Larry and Kenneth. The family made their home in Cody, Wyoming, where they owned a small motel and Stan also worked in road construction. In 1976, Stan and Angie moved to Oxford, where Stan engaged in farming.

Besides his parents, Stan was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Stan is survived by his devoted wife, Angie of Oxford; two sons: Larry Luke and his wife, Kristi of San Diego, California, and Ken Luke and his friend, Celia Bullington of Yuma; grandsons: Nathan and Kamden Luke, Shawn Luke and his wife, Kathern and Sy Luke and his wife, Melissa; one great-grandson; and one sister; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church.
A memorial has been established and is kindly suggested to the American Heart Association.
