Sheriff asks for public's help in getting answers to horse shooting
The investigation into the shooting of a retired rodeo horse east of Lake Minatare in November continues with little in the way of leads.
The horse, J.K. Tonto, was discovered November 17th on the family's ranch by the grandfather of rodeo competitor Kayellyn Hall.
Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman says their discussions with the landowner produced some evidence they can use if they identify suspects. But he says they have talked to all of the surrounding land owners, identified and interviewed all of the known hunters that were in the area, and still have come up with no credible leads.
Overman says they definitely need some assistance from the public or from someone who witnessed or heard something if they are going to get to the bottom of what happened. Overman says if you have any information about the incident, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org, call Scotts Bluff County Crimestoppers at 632-STOP, or call the Sheriff's Office at 436-6667.
