Harold William Brown, 74 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska (formerly of Oxford, Nebraska)

Harold William Brown, 74 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska (formerly of Oxford, Nebraska) passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village in Kearney. Harold was born April 10, 1938 in Cambridge, Nebraska, one of three children born to Lloyd William and Emma Irene (Whitesell) Brown. He attended Cambridge Public School.
Harold had a great love for music and especially enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley. He also enjoyed Western movies. His favorite actor was John Wayne. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness to animals and playing with his nieces and nephews when they visited.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd Brown, Jr.
Harold leaves to mourn his passing one sister, LaVonne Parks and her husband, George of Cozad, Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Bev Brown of Holdrege, Nebraska; three nephews: Michael Parks of Kearney, Eugene Brown and his wife, Tammy of Dorchester, Nebraska, Jimmy Brown of Kearney; four nieces: Cheryl Canas and her husband, Joel of Cozad, Susan Thurn and her husband, Jerry of Cozad, Vickie Hewitt and her husband, Pat of Phillipsburg, Kansas and Kandy Brown; along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Harold's wish for cremation. Family graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in Harold's honor and will be designated at a later date.
