Two arrested, marijuana seized in Seward
(Seward, Neb.) Â– A Sunday traffic stop on Interstate 80 west of Lincoln, led to the seizure of more than 24 lbs. of marijuana, and the arrest of two subjects.
At approximately 1:30 pm, Sunday, March 3, a trooper stopped a white 2013 Chevy Suburban with Colorado license plates, for a move-over violation on I-80 eastbound near the Seward-Lancaster County line west of Lincoln. The trooper detected the odor of marijuana, and a probable cause search revealed approximately 24.8 lbs. of marijuana packed in two plastic buckets inside a cardboard box in the cargo area of the rented SUV.
The driver and her passenger were both arrested for conspiracy to distribute marijuana. They are Sadedra Williams, 42, of North Las Vegas, NV., and Marcus Smith, 29, of Lynwood, Illinois. They were lodged in the Seward County Jail.
