Cattlemens Ball raises $1.3 million
The 2014 Cattlemens Ball of Nebraska raised just over $1.3 million dollars for the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Research Center in Omaha and local health organizations. The Ball was attended by around 4,000 people at the Hoot Owl Ranch in Banner County, where over 700 volunteers transformed the site into a tent city within a green valley surrounded by scenic hills and rock formations.
Misty Stauffer and her husband Kenny manage the property and hosted the ball along with owners Jeff and Kathy May. Stauffer says they had a chance to make a lot of new friendships in the last two years and meet a lot of new people.
Stauffer says there is no way they can ever thank everyone enough for coming together to make the event a huge success.
