Lexington man involved in Wednesday crash
An 81-year old Lexington man was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center on Wednesday as the result of a one-vehicle accident about 4 miles east of Overton on Highway 30. Dawson County Sheriff Gary Reiber says Gerald Zulkoski was westbound when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel.
"He crossed over to the south and struck some ballast, and ballast is a rock that goes on railroad tracks.
About $7,500 worth of damage was done to Zulkoski's 2011 Chevy Equinox, according to Reiber. The accident happened at 10:45 a.m.
