Margaret Ann Stutheit, 78, of Holdrege, Nebraska

Funeral Services for Margaret Stutheit will be conducted from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenton Birtell, officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Margaret Ann Stutheit, 78 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, her favorite day of the year, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Margaret was born September 17, 1934 in Orleans, Nebraska, the oldest of four children born to William and Mildred (Christensen) Wessels. Margaret received her education from the Alma High School, graduating with the class of 1952.

On September 30, 1956 she was united in marriage to Lavern "Stu" Stutheit and to this union one daughter was born, Patricia. The family made their home in Alma.

In 1960 they moved to Holdrege and she started working at Shaffer's Cleaners. Margaret was later employed by Double D Cleaners, working in the dry cleaning business for over 40 years.

Margaret was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Martha Society and the Christian Women’s Club.

Margaret loved family history and enjoyed going to the Nebraska Prairie Museum for the Genealogy meetings. She enjoyed collecting stamps, something she did since she was a little girl. Margaret also enjoyed reading, playing dominos and cards. The family tradition was to get together and play family games and puzzles.

Besides her parents and husband, Lavern, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Wessels; sister-in-law, Darlene Wasenius; and son-in-law, David Flodine.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Patricia Flodine of Holdrege; two grandchildren: Chris Flodine of Holdrege, Brooke Samuelson and her husband, SGT Josh Samuelson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; brother, John Wessels of Alma, Nebraska, sister, Mary Flodine and her husband, Jim of Omaha, Nebraska, brother-in-law, Leland Wasenius of Grand Island, Nebraska, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
