Two Killed in Sunday Crashes Near West Point
Police believe dense fog contributed to two deadly weekend crashes near West Point. Both crashes happened early Sunday morning. An Iowa woman was killed in one accident and a Nebraska woman died in the other. The Nebraska State Patrol says 20-year-old Brittany Meyers of Onawa, Iowa, was killed in a two-vehicle crash. Meyers was in the back seat of a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Colton Huber of Norfolk that was struck head-on when an oncoming car driven by 28-year-old Rachel Randall of West Point crossed over the center line. Meyers died after being flown to Creighton University Medical Center. Four other people were hurt in that crash. All were taken to St. Francis Memorial Hospital, one of them was later flown to Creighton Medical Center. No further word on their conditions has been given. In the other crash, 47-year-old Imelda Villalpando-Hernandez of Pender was killed when she got out of her vehicle to change drivers. She was struck by a car driven by 17-year-old Christopher Kai.
