Pauline was born October 20, 1929 at Kearney, Nebraska to Ernest and Louise (Holscher) Schwarz, a twin to her brother, Paul "Pete" Schwarz. The couple celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past December. The couple made their home on farms in the Loomis area, where they engaged in farming and raised their family.

Pauline's Christian faith was very important in her life; she was very active in church teaching Sunday school and Bible school for many years. They enjoyed traveling, taking their family on many vacations visiting family throughout Nebraska, Oklahoma and California. They enjoyed their sons being local and also had enjoyed many travels to visit their daughter, Debbie in Texas, Oregon and Maryland. Pauline loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved having them stay with her and Eldon and they enjoyed attending their activities and loved laughing at their antics.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, she fought and won the battle always remaining hopeful and being a wonderful example to her family how to handle the adversity of life. In July of 2012, Pauline and Eldon began to make their home at Chrisoma West in Holdrege and in July of 2013 she moved to St. John's to be near dialysis.
