Chester Ronald Herrick, 70 years of age of San Antonio, Texas (formerly of Oxford)

Memorial services for Chester Ronald "Ron" Herrick will be conducted at the Evangelical Free Church in Oxford, Nebraska on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Wes Holen officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Chester Ronald Herrick, 70 years of age of San Antonio, Texas (formerly of Oxford) passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born on June 19, 1942 in Oxford, the third of six children born to Chester and Dorothy (Stump) Herrick. He received his education from Edison High School.

Ron lived most of his life in Oxford until moving to San Antonio in 2006 to be closer to his son, John David Herrick.

He enjoyed rock collecting, jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. Ron was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for several years in Nebraska.

Besides his mother and father, Ron was preceded in death by his stepmother, Joyce Herrick; three brothers: Larry Herrick, Dennis Herrick, Edward Herrick; and a granddaughter, Jade Alexander Herrick.

Ron leaves to mourn his passing his son, John David Herrick and his wife, Beatriz of San Antonio; a granddaughter, Daniella Casanova; a great-grandson, Kalob Elizondo; and five siblings: David Herrick, Ortha Noltensmeier, Joy Chaffin, Paul Herrick, and Mike Herrick.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Ron's honor and will be designated at a later date.
