Eastern Nebraska Park to host reenactments
FORT CALHOUN, Neb. (AP) _ An upcoming living-history event at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park will feature a reenactment of life at a military post in the 1820s.
The park in eastern Nebraska is set to host the event on Oct. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The reenactments will include portrayals of fur traders, coopers, blacksmiths, Indian agents and others.
Vehicles at the event are required to have a park entry permit, which can be bought at the park.
Fort Atkinson was the first military post established west of the Missouri River. It's located seven blocks east of U.S. Highway 75, near Fort Calhoun.
