Two Dodge County Teens Killed In Crash North of Fremont

FREMONT, Neb. (AP) - Two people have been killed in a collision between a car and semitrailer just north of Fremont.

Dodge County Sheriff Steve Hespen says Bryan Huff, 17, of Fremont and Dalan Brandt, 15, of Hooper were killed shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday when the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Huff collided with a side dump trailer being pulled by a semi truck.

Sheriff Hespen says the truck driven by 51-year-old Byron
Morrow, of Tekamah, was headed west on Nebraska 91 before turning south onto U.S. 77. That's when the big rig was struck by the car.

Morrow was not injured. Both teens in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Hespen said all persons in both vehicles were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

Hespen said the cause of the accident remains under investigation. Traffic control at the T-intersection is a stop sign for westbound Highway 91 traffic, with no traffic control for Highway 77.
