Larry D. Menze, 74 years of age, of Stamford, NE

A celebration of life for Larry Menze will be conducted from the Community Building in Stamford, Nebraska on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Larry D. Menze, 74 years of age, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home. He was born June 20, 1939 at his parent's home north of Arapahoe, Nebraska, the youngest of six children born to Carl and Lena (Hilker) Menze. He received his education from Arapahoe High School graduating with the class of 1957.

In 1958, he was united in marriage to Vonda Hoover. The couple made their home in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and to this union three children were born: Marla, Tammy and David.

In 1975, he was united in marriage to Dena Hovda and the couple made their home in Holdrege, Nebraska for many years while Larry was employed at Speedway Transportation. Later, they moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where they enjoyed raising a variety of birds and animals. Dena passed away in 2009 and Larry moved to Stamford.

Larry was very proud of all his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Besides his parents and wife; Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Bryce Menze.

Larry leaves to mourn his passing his children: Marla Miller and her husband, Rick of Odessa, Nebraska, Tammy Linner and her husband, Jeff of Upland, Nebraska, and David Menze of Stamford; 7 grandchildren: Caitlyn Menze of Stamford, Brandi Hardenbrook and her husband, Nathan of Minden, Nebraska, Adam Hardin of Lincoln, Nebraska, Samantha Miller of Kearney, Nebraska, Chaz Linner and his wife, Elsa of Upland, Jebb Linner and his wife, Molly of Kearney, Desiree' Guthrie and her husband, Vince of Wilcox, Nebraska; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Sadie who he left to his family to care for.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Larry's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Larry's honor and will be designated at a later date. Correspondence and sympathy cards may be sent to Marla Miller, 421 Main Street, Odessa, Nebraska 68861.
