Christmas at the Cody's a success, say organizers

More than 1,400 people enjoyed Christmas at the Cody's 2013, according to event organizers.

Attendance was down slightly from 2012, but $5,668 was raised from admission fees. That money combined with corporate donations covered the expenses of the event, including payment to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for the use of Scout's Rest Ranch and staff time.

The annual Christmas at the Cody's event was placed in jeopardy due to state budget cuts for Game and Parks, but a $1,500 community betterment grant from the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation provided seed money to continue the tradition, according to organizers.
