Sasse officially launches campaign

Ben Sasse launched his campaign for U.S. Senate yesterday (Monday) in Fremont. The president of Midland University, Sasse said there are too many career politicians in Washington. And he referred to himself as the "anti-Obama Care candidate.

Sasse says the state not only needs a voice against the "Affordable Care Act" but also opposing the underlying view that led to the legislation. Sasse says he also wants to talk about patent centered solutions that "will actually work."

Sasse says he will also focus on "the golden age of energy", rolling back regulations, and growing the economy.

This is Sasse's first run for public office. However he served in the Bush administration as the assistant secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services. And he also had been chief of staff for the Department of Justices's Office of Legal Policy.

Sasse will fly in to the Western Nebraska Regional Airport at 5:15 to greet supporters
