Lamb Industry Unveils Roadmap

The American Lamb Board - following more than a year of research, analysis and industry input - has released the Final Lamb Industry Roadmap presentation. This roadmap was created through a collaboration and consultation from all sectors of the industry. American Lamb Board Chairman Dan Lippert says he was inspired by the commitment of all segments of the industry to come together to work on a plan to strengthen the industry. He says collaboration is the key to the successful implementation of the Roadmap and to the future profitability and competitiveness of the American lamb industry. The Lamb Industry Roadmap has been created to address a few key goals - including improving the quality and consistency of American lamb, increasing demand for American lamb, improving industry productivity to remain competitive and improving industry collaboration. To identify these goals and develop strategies and objectives to achieve them - intense examination of the lamb industry was executed.

With the release of the final presentation - the American lamb industry can now begin the process of implementing the strategies outlined in the Roadmap. According to the American Lamb Board - all sheep industry organizations and industry sectors will work on the implementation. The group says the Roadmap project is a plan and a process for initiating actions to address the four goals. It will change and evolve over time as new events occur and as the industry learns from the implementation effort. The final Roadmap presentation is available at (www.lambcheckoff.com). A written report will be released later this month.
