Elwood woman arrested on 3 warrants

Redwine

A 52-year-old Elwood woman has been arrested following a joint investigation of the Gosper and Dawson County Sheriff's Offices. Gosper County Sheriff Dennis Ocken says it stems from the theft of jewelry from an Elwood residence. Sylvia Redwine faces a misdemeanor charge of theft in that case. She also faces a charge of theft by receiving stolen property in Dawson County on a complaint that she sold the stolen jewelry items to a Lexington man.

Redwine also faces a probation violation from a previous felony theft case. In the previous case, Redwine was sentenced this past summer to 48 months probation and ordered to pay restitution of $4,564. She had already served a 30 day jail term. Her bond was set at 10% of $17,500 in all three cases, which has already been posted.

Redwine has also been serving a concurrent 12 month probation term after being convicted of misdemeanor theft this past August. In that case Hydrocodone pills were taken from a Gosper County residence.
