Nelson Taking Mid East trip over the holiday

Count Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson among those who'll be traveling more than 50 miles from home over the Memorial Day weekend.

Nelson will join other members of Congress in a trip to Egypt and Saudi Arabia to talk about developments in the Middle East...including the presidential elections in Egypt, violence in Syria, and the ongoing concerns about Iran's nuclear program.

Nelson is excited to be visiting Egypt during the nation's first-ever fully free presidential elections.

Nelson can't release details of his trip for security reasons, but says he does plan to hold his weekly conference call with Nebraska reporters next Tuesday from Saudi Arabia.
