Two Alliance shooting victims released from hospital
Two of the three people hospitalized with gunshot wounds from Tuesday's standoff and shootout with police in Alliance have been released from the hopital. Charles Lierk, the 62 year old owner of the pharmacy and hostage in the incident was released Thursday evening after suffering gunshot wounds to the back and arm. The Alliance Police officer, 43 year old Kirk Felker, who arrived on the scene Tuesday morning and was shot in the initial contact with the suspect was released Friday morning from Box Butte General Hospital.
A 37 year old member of the Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team, Tim Flick, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, remains hospitalized. Another Alliance police officer, 35 year old Matt Shannon, sustained a shrapnel wound Tuesday at the same time Flick was shot. He was treated and released Tuesday.
