The 2014 Galaxy of Stars Talent Search will take place on Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31st at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Coordinator Wynne Adams says things began in Lincoln.

"We started out in Lincoln, Nebraska, and we started doing the Galaxy of the Stars, and actually having our big final competition at the State Fair. So what we do now is we have a two-day show. We have the semifinals, which this year will be on August 30th in Grand Island, and those are always from 1-5 on the Bristol Windows Stage. And then the finals will be on Sunday from 1-5 on the Bristol Windows Stage as well."

All ages will be able to compete for over $9,000 in cash, prizes, trophies, and recording sessions. A Preliminary Mail-In Video Contest will determine the qualifying contestants.

Adams says there are four categories for contestants to choose from.

"We actually have four overall categories. We have variety, we have instrumental, we have dance, and vocal. And anyone who has any kind of a talent we've had cowboy poets, we've had magicians, we've had baton twirlers. And of course a lot of vocalists and instrumentalists, and a lot of dancers. And so really anyone with the talent of any form can be a part of this, and find a way that they can be a part of our program."

The talent search is open to Nebraska residents only. The Entry Fee for each video performance and original song submitted is $35.00. All entries need to be received on or before July 12th.
