Lilie Ann Dahlgren, 96 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska

Funeral Services for Lilie Ann Dahlgren will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones and Chaplain DeWane Dow, officiating. Interment will be in the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska.

Lilie Ann Dahlgren, 96 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Lilie Ann was born on August 10, 1917 on the family farm north of Beaver City, in Furnas County, Nebraska, the eldest of eight children born to Clark and Lucy (Manley) Beeler. She received her primary education from rural schools, the Mascot School and then graduated from Atlanta High School with the class of 1935. Following her education, Lilie Ann was employed by several area families, including serving as a housemaid for Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Brewster.

On December 11, 1940, she was united in marriage to Harvey R. Dahlgren and to this union five children were born: Janiece, Milton, Eileen, Eloise, and Grace. The family made their home on the farm north of Holdrege, where Harvey was born. They began their farming career with horses and later evolved to tractor power. In December of 1975, Lilie Ann and Harvey moved into Holdrege. After her children began school, Lilie Ann enjoyed her employment at Christian Homes, first in the laundry department and then as a nurse's aide for seventeen years.

Lilie Ann was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, where she was active with the Women's Ministries and White Cross. The friendship bonds formed through the years within her church meant the world to her. On May 31, 1997, Lilie Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey. Since 2005, Lilie Ann was proud to have called the Christian Homes Care Community her home.

Besides her husband and parents, Lilie Ann was preceded in death by a granddaughter-in-law; one great-granddaughter; two brothers: Eldon Beeler at the age of six and Earl Beeler and his wife, Dorothy; two sisters: Metta Theobald and her husband, John and Leta Beth Howard and her husband, Wendell; three brothers-in-law: Jack Dixon, Basil Costerisan and Dave Johnson; and sister-in-law, Ruth Larson and her husband, Clinton.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her four daughters: Janiece McDaniel of Casper, Wyoming, Eileen Roth and her husband, Dale of Columbus, Nebraska, Eloise Kearney of Sterling, Colorado, and Grace Grove and her husband, Lee of rural Axtell, Nebraska; one son, Milt Dahlgren and his wife, Jan of Minden, Nebraska; ten grandchildren: Renee Johnson and her husband, Bob of Omaha, Nebraska, Mandy Dahlgren of Minden, Kyle Dahlgren and his wife, Kasey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Lincoln Roth and his wife, Dawn of Columbus, Nebraska, Clark Roth of Seattle, Washington, Tim Kreutzer and his wife, of Sherrie of Roggen, Colorado, Travis Kreutzer and his wife, Jennifer of Alma, Nebraska, Becky Kindschuh and her husband, Benjamin of Axtell, Kathy Abrahamson and her husband, Jon of Axtell, and Cindy Grove of Valley, Nebraska; fourteen great-grandchildren: Madeline and Noah Johnson, Jadyn and Brody Dahlgren, Cheyenne, Jared and Charis Roth, Lance Kreutzer, Sarah and Wyatt Kreutzer, Megan, Caleb and Samuel Kindschuh, and Wyatt Abrahamson; one brother, Kenneth Beeler and his wife, Maryann of California; two sisters: Betty Johnson of California and Donna Eveland and her husband, Paul of Ames, Nebraska and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege and prior to the services at the church.

A memorial will be established in Lilie Ann's honor and kindly suggested to the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege or the Christian Homes Care Community.
