Terry L. Trueblood, 75, Lincoln, Nebraska

Terry L. Trueblood, 75 of Lincoln, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, 2725 N. 50th in Lincoln with the Rev. Larry Moffet officiating.

Private family burial will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park in Grand Island.

Terry was born Oct. 23, 1936 in Seward to Leo and Hazel (Tribbett) Trueblood. He started school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1955. One of his cherished memories was playing on the 1953 GIHS Championship football team. He graduated in 1959 from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega.

On Nov. 22, 1959 he was married to Donna Mertz in Grand Island and to this union three children were born. He was also a graduate of the Colorado School of Banking. He began his banking career with Pinnacle Bank Jan. 1, 1961 in Neligh. In the fall of 1967 he became president of the bank in Central City and in 1980 was named president of the Lexington bank where he remained until retirement in 1999. He was a member of the University of Nebraska President's Advisory Council, and was a diplomat for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.

He was president of the Neligh Jaycees, the Central City Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Foundation. In Lincoln he was a Teammate, volunteer for the Nebraska Motorist Assist program and helped with many University of Nebraska-Lincoln and high school track meets.

Terry is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Susan (Bob) O'Rourke of Edgewater Md.; sons, Mike Trueblood of Dallas, Texas and Tom (Sheila) Trueblood of Omaha; six grandchildren, Dru and Allie O'Rourke, Rachel Trueblood and Tommy, John and Jenna Trueblood and sisters Janet Worth of Grand Island and Gena Olinger of St. Paul.

Memorials are suggested to Teammates, First United Methodist Church in Lincoln or to the donor's choice.
